First One Hundred Days in Office; Hon Moses Sunday David putting Mopamuro on a pedestal of allround Development.

First One Hundred Days in Office; Hon Moses Sunday David putting Mopamuro on a pedestal of allround Development.

The designers and framers of the Nigeria Constitution that recognised the Local Government as the third  tier of government must have thought it well as the Local Government has to a great extent served the constitutional mandate of taken the government closer to the people at the grassroots.

The coming on board of Hon Moses Sunday David aka Alumon as the sixth democratically elected Chairman of Mopamuro LGA on the 14th of December 2020 haven won convincingly the election held on the 12th December with her amiable running mate, Hon Mercy Bukola Obajemu flying the APC flag.

There is no gain saying that the bedrock of any society is Security of Lives and Properties. Hon Moses Sunday David swung into action by calling a Peace and Security Meeting where the security architecture of the local government was exhaustively discussed and rejig where necessary to make for a peaceful Mopamuro where citizens could live and do business with their security guaranteed. This steps are already yielding as Mopamuro has remained peaceful for living and business.

It is also on record that Hon Moses Sunday David is working assiduously to see that vehicles of the local government that has been abandoned to rot are brought back to working condition. The local government Tipper is back on the road and doing well to boost the revenue of the council.

Closely related to the above is the structure been put in place to see that the tractors received from the local government are released to genuine farmers to reduce the stress our farmers have been going through before they could hire tractors before now. With this, the story is going to be different for Mopamuro farmers this farming season.

Life is sacred and no life is small. The open door policy of Hon Alumon and accessibility to all irrespective of class yielded a positive result as a young lady who found and abandoned baby on a dump site in Mopa found a trusted confidant in Alumon. The Council Boss abandoned official protocols to see that the baby is safe and well catered for before the officials of the State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development whose constitutional duty it is to handle such could come for the case. The baby is doing well today courtesy the proactive Alumon.

Mopamuro people received with ecstatic joy the news of a Gold Processing Cluster Factory sited in Mopamuro by the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development. Mopamuro LGA under Hon Moses worked with other relevant stakeholders to see that the one day seminar on the proposed factory was well attended and for Mopamuro people to know how to key into opportunities that will natural come with such a gigantic infrastructure.

The robust relationship between the executive and the legislative arm of the Council is one that could accommodate speedy development. The two arm sees one another as partners in progress and not rivals. This goes with the management staff of the local government and general staff who has come to love the Council Boss with understanding.

Hon Moses Sunday David has proven this past hundred days that he is the best choice for Mopamuro people for the job. Going forward, he shall do more!

International Women's Day, 2021: Hon. Asiru Abdulrasaq Ijagbemi sent Goodwill Message to Celebrate with Women in Yagba East LGA

*08-03-2021*

Hon. Asiru Abdulrasaq Ijagbemi, Executive Chairman Yagba East LGA has sent goodwill message to women in Yagba East LGA as part of activities to mark this year's International Women's Day Celebration.

In his goodwill message made available to the media, the kindhearted council boss eulogizes womanhood, emphasizing on their supportive role in nation building.
"First, let me seize this opportunity to thank and appreciate women in Yagba East for your unflinching support for me always, and to the New Direction Government of GYB, and to APC at large. Your supportive role in nation building cannot be overemphasized, and that justified the common saying; " build a woman, build a nation". Your voice has been gaining national recognition and attention through our gender sensitive governor; H.E. Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello who has practically demonstrated women-inclusiveness in governance _ and I'm replicating same in Yagba East LG. I therefore celebrate with you on the occasion of this year's International Women's Day Celebration in recognition of your enormous importance. I urge you to continue to be supportive at home, society and to government at all levels"

Congratulations and happy Women's Day Celebration

Goodwill Message to Mopamuro Women by Hon Moses Sunday David, The Executive Chairman of Mopamuro local Government.

Goodwill Message to Mopamuro Women by Hon Moses Sunday David. 08.03.21.

Right from when the first man was created, the need to have a woman to make that creation a 'complete package' was birthed as God agreed to it that man can not live alone.

Women all over across ages and time, endeavors and carears have distinguished themselves as quintessential. Examples abounds of how the women folks has helped in changing the course of history to making our word a better place.

From Mary Slessor to Queen Amina of Zaria, From Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti to modern day women like Prof Dora Akunyili, Stella Adadevo, Angel Mertchel, Ngozi OkonjoIweala etc.

It is on this note that I see this day set aside as the International Women's Day as deserving and  important not only to appreciate the women but to discuss the journey so far in terms of challenges and way forward.

The themed 'Women in leadership; achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world' is very germane as the women and the world faces the challenges occasioned by the virus.

It is noteworthy that His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello appreciates the importance of the women folks in nation building. He is the first Governor in Nigeria that is making concrete plan to put the women in their rightful place in leadership. It is my hope that the women will seize that opportunity to announce to the world again that they can.

In Mopamuro, the template is there with the Vice Chairperson, three elected Councillors including the Council leader and another woman as a Senior Special Adviser, we are following His Excellency Yahaya Bello on that glorious pedestal of allowing the women a space to showcase leadership.

Long live the women!
Long live Mopamuro!
Long live Kogi!
Long live Nigeria!

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY message to Nigerian Women.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY message to Nigerian Women.

A new time is here, No thanks to the ravaging Covid-19 pandemics that has brought a new norms and lifestyle.
However, the development of vaccines and it's distribution/ Usage lately coupled with observing protocols of social distancing, Face mask usage , Hand Sanitisers  and washing of hands has indeed tamed the ravaging virus.

It is therefore not surprising that the theme of 2021 international day themed : “WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP: ACHIEVING AN EQUAL FUTURE IN A COVID-19 WORLD,”
is aimed at seeking how women can be equal partners in decision-making processes, especially those regarding policymaking.

The malignant and fight for relevance in the men dominated world is a huge hurdle to contend with in the first place, but giving women the opportunity to express themselves as well as partake in critical policy making in issues that affects them and the society we all live in is even more difficult than the biblical phrase of a Camel passing through the eye of the needle.

But an opportunity like today brings a reminder and courage to womanhood to be resolute and consistent in demanding not only to be seen or heard but be part of Governance.

Women should also seek to live above Mediocrity to being their best as to earn their recognition rather than being favoured.

Our perfect examples should be in the likes of Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala whose resume says it all.

I therefore challenge all women at all strata of life, to rise above every limitations and stand to be counted without which we may be a manipulating tool in the competitive and repressing world.

Happy international Women's day!
Happy celebration!
