So far among all aspirants of Kogi west senatorial seat come 2023 including the incumbent, apart from motion and bill sponsorship which is one of the basic thing of a legislation. Who amongst all have a track record of positive impact as Hon. Idris Asiru despite been an appointee in the state level.

ASIWAJU Asiru has paid his dues in the bit that he can in which a cross Kogi west, you must find his positive signature and influence.

As a man with vision who believes posterity and history won't forget us in all we do. In his quest to keep his foot print, from  the banking sector, his signature remain.

We are not in doubt of his capacity to rescue Kogi west from it static development to active development both in community and human development come 2023.

Mr Richard Osaseyi the  Ijumu Okoro gbede born philanthropist and business mogul has recently bagged a certificate of Humanitarian Services from Okun Youth Development Association. This certificate according to the Association is given on merit and in total assessment of the kind humanitarian gestures of the beneficiary to the people of Okun land and beyond.

While presenting, the team of executives, described Mr Osaseyi as a man whose passion for quality life assurance for humanity is immeasurable and one that remains enviable and enjoys perfect commendation from all spheres of our human society. 

"Mr Osaseyi is a man who has been faithful in his act of kindness, generosity and benevolence to humanity. He has never seized being a conduit for success to others. It is incredible and encouraging to see a young man like Osaseyi burning inside of him with nothing other than passion for others..., Passion for happy living environment, passion for the lifting of others, passion for a better life for all". 

Hon. Sunday Paul who made the presentation on behalf of the Association, charged Mr Osaseyi to keep up the good work, positing that the society will only continue to be a better place with people like him.

Receiving the certificate, Mr Osaseyi appreciates the Association for the recognition while noting that in all that he has been doing to ease the burden of those he finds the privilege to, he is only doing that to the glory of God who has given him the privilege to be a source of helping hands to others. He pointed that he is only doing the little he can to show gratitude to God for his blessings upon him. He further pointed that doing good to each and everyone will only make the world a better place and he is happy to do that which he knows how to do best. 

He thanked to group for this encouragement and promises to never relent in his passion. He also encouraged young people to rally round the Yahaya Bello's led administration, stressing that the audacity of conviction of Yahaya Bello should be a motivating factor for which young people to be encouraged to dare to take active involvement in governance and democratic decision making processes. He maintained that he is encouraged and enjoins others to see the light in this presidential ambition of Yahaya Bello. 

Finally, he tasked the team to not relent in making their own quota contribution to the development of our human society believing that not amount of support is ever to small to make a society grow in the positive light.

The foundational intent and far reaching aspiration of democratic system of governance is not only limited to returning governing power and it accompanying freedom to the people,  most fundamental, is to promote justice, fairness, equity and emplace sensitive balance in our political affairs. Most often than not, especially in our political clime, the letters and spirit of democracy has been twisted and wrongly influenced.

The intended inclusivity and participatory synergy,  democracy and democratic practice thrive to engender would be defeated if the values of fairness and justice is pushed to the back seat. And in a democracy,  we have not truly won, if the participating quarters still feels marginalised or seen to be an outcast and subservient of one another. 

Expectedly, a New Kogi has emerged with Governor Yahaya Bello where the ideology of inclusivity and participatory democracy exist, which will further strengthen the bond of unity in the confluence and much more give a sense of belonging to all Senatorial districts. This can only be achieved with clear understanding and Rotational system that will see to the promotion of justice and fairness to all concerned. 

The people of Western Senatorial District can only have a feeling of social justice and inclusivity through even, fair and equitable rotation of the position of the Senate among the seven Local Government Areas of the Zone. These are: 1. Yagba West, 2.Yagba East, 3. Mopamuro, 4. ljumu, 5. Kabba/Bunu, 6. Lokoja and 7. Kogi LGA

History is said to be laden with facts and facts are sacred just like truth. Contemporary Nigerian democratic administrations though, neither contiguous nor consistent confirm the following facts as lay bare: it should not be forgotten that 6 of the 7 LGAs in Kogi West have produced Senators of the Federal Republic of Nigeria at various times, except Yagba East LGA.

Here are the various beneficiaries and their LGAs: 

Senator Justus Olubode Olu – 1979 to 1983, Yagba West; 

Senator Joseph Funsho Obasaju – 1983, Kabba/Bunu; 

Senator Sunday Awoniyi – 1992 to 1993, Mopamuro;

 Senator Ado Adamu Shuaibu – 1998, Kogi;

 Senator Tunde Ogbeha – 1999 to 2007, Lokoja;

 Senator Smart Adeyemi – 2007 to 2015, Ijumu.

Through the magnanimity of Governor Yahaya Bello, Ijumu again got the Senatorial slot through Senator Smart Adeyemi under APC 2019- 2023, making it a straight 16 years unbroken at the red chamber. 

It will be most logical, fair, democratic and politically correct to shift the seat to Yagba Federal Constituency, and specifically Yagba East if indeed we want to break the walls of Marginalisation and political imbalance vis-a-vis the historic background of the Senate seat pre 4th republic.

Therefore, it's only fair, to expect that the registered electorates of Kogi West Senatorial District should allow or let the senatorial seat go round the seven local government areas of the zone of which the only one left after the successful completion of Adeyemi’s current tenure in 2023, is Yagba East LGA. It is just in the spirit of equity, balance and inclusivity that Yagba East LGA should be the only area to scout, screen and present aspirants for the position in 2023 onward to represent Kogi West Senatorial Zone.

The front line aspirant for Yagba Federal Constituency House of Representative seat, Chief Joseph Olarewaju Elijah has greeted Christian faithfuls on the occasion of Easter celebration, urged them to reflect on the reason for the season by showing love, forgiveness and compassion to one another.

Chief JOE, discribed the death and resurrection of Jesus christ as a symbol of sacrifice and renewed hope for the believers, admonished the people to reinforce their trust and hope for greater Kogi state and Nigeria at large.

The house of Representative hopeful in his Easter message released through his media Assistant to the people of the state said, despite the various challenges bedeviling the Nation and her federation units, the hope ,trust and unity of the people are the seeds needed to overcome these seeming obstacles and quest for a New Nigeria.

"The death and resurrection of Jesus christ represents christ's victory over death. It also brings to fore, the lessons of love, sacrifice and renewed hope for mankind.  We must imbibe the teachings this season espouses. 

Chief Joseph assured the people that Governor Yahaya Bello led administration will continually provide adequate security of lives and property before, during and after Easter Celebration, saying as they celebrate the unequal love of Almighty God for mankind, they should also pray vehemently for the development of the confluence state and her leadership.

The Honourable Commissioner of Finance,Budget and Economic Planning,Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris,FCA has sent his heartfelt greetings to the Christian faithfuls on the auspicious occasion of Easter. He enjoined all faithfuls to demonstrate love, compassion,  forgiveness and heart of sacrifice which he said is the reason for this season.

Asiwaju discribed the death and resurrection of Jesus christ as a symbol of sacrifice and renewed hope for the believers, admonished the people to reinforce their trust and hope for a greater Kogi state and Nigeria at large.

He urged Christians in the state and beyond to use this special season to pray vehemently for Governor Yahaya Bello to finish strong in his passionate quest make Kogi State a place of pride and cynosure of all states.

In his words " I personally request the Christendom to use these sacred period of Easter to support and offer prayer for Governor Yahaya Bello Presidential ambition, which he says, is geared towards restoring hope to Nigerians and bridging gap in our contemporary democratic governance".

While wishing Christians happy and blessed Easter,  he assured  kogites of continued delivery of good governance and dividends of democracy by the New Direction administration.
