The Honourable Commissioner of Finance,Budget and Economic Planning, Kogi State, Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris, FCA has felicitated with Muslim Ummah around the world and Kogi State specifically on the auspicious occasion of Eld el Kabir celebration.

In his message of felicitation released through his media Assistant, enjoins faithfuls to celebrate within the confines religion rectitude, preaching peace, love and sacrifice which are some of the values that explicitly corroborate the essence of the season.

In his word " I delightfully rejoice with all Muslims on these years celebration of Sallah, which is the most apposite time for us to reflect and cherish the sacrifices made by prophet  ibrahim(AS). This noble act should be reflected in our actions and deeds daily, surmounting the perversive nature of our contemporary world".

"As practising believers , we should always remember that Islam is a religion of charity that urges us to love our neighbours as we love ourselves. Let continue to live in peace and harmony with fellow kogites of other faiths in the spirit of love, peaceful coexistence and National cohesion.

I urge us to persistently pray for our leaders at all levels, so they will lead in accordance with the tenet of their oath of office and will of Almighty allah, much more, the progress of the state must be paramount to us at all times.

Let me also use this occasion to call on Kogites regardless of tribe, religion, class and even political affliation to embrace peace and shun violence before, during and after the campaign ahead of the 2023 Gubernatorial elections.

Eid-el-Kabir: Let Peace Reign In Kogi Hon. Emmanuel Obaro Pleads as he extended his greetings to the Muslim. 

The Member representing the people of yagba East at Kogi State House of Assembly,  Hon. Obaro Emmanuel, has urged Yagba East and Kogi state to see peace as one of the major ingredients for democracy to thrive.

Hon. Emmanuel made this known in his Eid-el-Kabir message to the people of Yagba East including residents of Kogi and politicians in the state, which is preparing for the Gubernatorial election.

Hon. Emmanuel, who noted that the yearnings of many well-meaning Nigerians and states were justified, however, added that going about such demands and requests through violent means would not help the citizens and the country.

“We complain about a dwindling economy today, but the truth is that restiveness, banditry, terrorism, kidnappings and general insecurity are some of the major causes.

“It is not difficult to know that no nation can thrive or succeed when it is violence-ridden.

“Just as citizens must begin to live in peace and neighborliness, we, as leaders, must also not nap, we must not sleep on ideas to make the country and the state great.

“We must show perfect examples of love for country and sacrifice to humanity as Islam teaches.

“In Kogi state, we have remained a good example of a working democracy thanks to our hardworking  Governor His Excellency Governor Yahaya Bello CON, the leaders and faithful residents.

“Like I said earlier ahead of the Gubernatorial  election, it is very important that all parties shun violence.

 We must eschew violence; it is not going to do any of us any good and it is not going to do any party any good also.

“We must allow people of the state to decide and choose leaders that will serve their interests for the next four years. So, we must all come together to condemn anything that has to do with violence.

“We must do that, it is important because anything can become the outcome of violent actions. We don’t want that to happen,” Hon. Emmanuel Obaro said as he congratulated Muslims in the state and yagba East for witnessing another holy celebrations.

Kogi state university kabba; Hon. Emmanuel Obaro Moved a Motion for A Satellite Campus In Yagba East.

The House of Assembly member representing Yagba East Constituency, Hon. Emmanuel Obaro, Moved a Motion at the floor of house and called on the state government to make plans towards establishing a satellite campus of Kogi State University, Kabba in Yagba East.

Hon. Emmanuel during an emergency plenary session yesterday where the lawmakers debated on the bill establishing Kogi State University Kabba, transmitted to the legislative council by the state governor through the state attorney general moved a motion for the establishment of a satellite campus in Yagba East.

While he speaks further on the bill, the member representing yagba East state constituency, once again appreciated the state governor for being a fair, just and equitable leader for deeming it necessary to establish and cite a first Grade tertiary institution on the soil of Okunland.

The lawmaker further advocated for the establishment of a satellite campus of the university in Yagba state constituency.

"I want to use this medium to call on this honorable chamber and the state government to look into establishing a satellite campus of the university in Yagba East.

"Also, a satellite campus of the university in Yagba East will help to decongest the main campus in Kabba, while students from the axis will have more access to tertiary education," he submitted.

Finally Hon Emmanuel Obaro appreciates the committee for their activeness and hard-working in ensuring the dream of institution comes to reality.

Democracy Day: Hon.  Obaro Emmanuel Urges Yagba East and  Nigerians To Be Hopeful, Says Nigeria On Way To Recovery.

The member representing yagba East state constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Obaro Emmanuel, has urged Nigerians to remain hopeful assuring that the country is on the way to recovery.

Hon. Obaro Emmanuel stated this in his Democracy Day message released on Monday, 12th June 2023.

The member representing yagba East state constituency commended Kogi state and Nigerians for their patience over the past years noting that they should not lose hope as there are clear signs that the country is on the way to recovery.

“It was obvious that the country has suffered serious maladministration in the past and in correcting this, there is the need to put in place enduring structures that will assist in reviving the economy.

“The past seven years has seen the laying of solid foundation on which the resurrected economy will rest. Without this solid foundation, the economy will be groping in the dark. This is what the All Progressives Congress (APC) government at the centre has been doing and we will soon start to see the benefits and gains,” Hon. Emmanuel said.

He assured Nigerians that the APC administration at both state and national level is committed to putting in place solid structures that will ensure that Nigerians enjoy full dividends of democracy even at their doorsteps.

Hon. Obaro Emmanuel urged Nigerians not to relent in their support, cooperation and prayers for the APC government at both state and national level assuring that, “we’ve indeed got out of the dark tunnel, the light is here”.

The Executive Chairman of Yagba East LGA, Hon. Asiru Abdulrasaq Ijagbemi  has celebrated with the residents of Yagba East as they commemorate Nigeria’s democracy day.

The council chairman, in his felicitation message, said; “The story of today's democracy celebration is connected to the struggle and resilience of our true heroes who fought with their all to make democracy a reality; most significant of them is MKO Abiola who fought till his end.

“Their struggle seems unrewarding back then. But today, we are remembering them for standing by the truth and progress of humanity.

“Dear yagba East, the best way to celebrate a day like this is to truly imbibe the resilience and relentlessness of our heroes so that great things can be said of us tomorrow.

“We shall forever celebrate our true heroes of yesterday like Awolowo, MKO Abiola etc and those of today like  His Excellency President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.
