For Equity, Fairness, Political stability, Gubernatorial seat should shift to Kogi West come 2024..KPA

For Equity, Fairness, Political stability, Gubernatorial seat should shift to Kogi West come 2024..KPA

A Non profitable organisation, focused on the stability and socio political development in the confluence state, Kogi Progressive Ambassadors(KPA), whose membership are drawn from the three Senatorial district of the state, has lend their voices to the raging discourse as it relates to the next Gubernatorial election in the state.

In the communique released after their meeting, it was unanimously posited that the next Governor of Kogi state should emerge from Kogi West Senatorial District,  if the place of Equity and Fairness is well respected and esteemed.

It was clearly stated that political stability and peaceful coexistence of any state is largely dependent on how such state allow the wheel of equity, fairness and justice to thrive, which invariably gives every segment of the state a sense of belonging, rather than breeding sentiments and distrust due to perpetual neglect and Marginalisation.

According to the leader of the group, Bernard Ojecheme, Since the creation of Kogi state 1991, the Eastern part has heldsway in power till 2016, when God Almighty himself stamped the emergence of Governor Yahaya Bello from the central Senatorial District, which we all agreed was the hand of God to break the sustained chain of injustice, imbalance and Marginalisation in the political ecosystem of the state. It was a shift that comes with sense of inclusivity and satisfaction.

Speaking further, a  summarised comparison of what the situation in the state was, before the emergence of an Ebira Governor, speaks volume of a state that was recklessly divided along tribal, religious and class line. A distasteful situation where a segment of the state pride themselves as superior and essential to others in the state, births nothing but rancour, distrust, dissatisfaction and under development to say the least.

As a Group whose core mandate is to promote peaceful coexistence, unity and stability in our Socio-political firmament as a state, it will be strategically wise, politically correct and developmentally viable to allow the power shift round, down to Kogi West, after Kogi Central must have concluded their Constitutional 8 years.

"Under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello, we have enjoyed the exclusive values that comes with Statehood, which is conspicuously due to the walls of Marginalisation, religious bigotry, ethnic bias and class differences that was totally broken down by His Excellency. We can not afford to return to that gory and unimpressive days again".
