HON ASIRU ASIWAJU IDRIS FELICITATE WITH CHRISTIAN ON ESTHER CELEBRATIONS.

The Kogi State Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Hon. Asiwaju Idris has felicitated with Christians on the occasion of Easter

The Commissioner in his easter message urged Christians to embrace the lessons of the season as a practical guide to life.

Hon. Idris who said this year’s easter celebration calls for a sober reflection as a state and country, added that easter is a pointer of hope and demonstration of selfless sacrifices to humanity.

While calling on Christians to emulate Jesus Christ by making sacrifices that will advance the course of unity and oneness especially at this time the country is battling with covid 19 pandemic, the Commissioner emphasized on forgiveness, love and friendship.

He however call on the people of the State to remain true to the virtues that promotes peace and unity.

The Commissioner noted that this year’s easter celebration is taking place at a time the country and state is dealing with a very difficult economic situation which is due to the global covid 19 pandemic, he said we must be prepared as a state and must be willing to make sacrifices hence the downward review of the year 2020 budget which is no longer realistic due to the global economic melt down. He commended the Governor for the steps taken to cushion the effect on the economy of the state.
