The above personality is the APC flagbearer for  Kogi State House of Assembly, Mopamuro LGA emerging from the just concluded APC primary election on 26th May, 2022.

*EARLY LIFE*

Olawumi, popularly called SOJ was born into the family of Mr and Mrs William Jacob from Okeagi, Ward 05 Mopamuro LGA. 

*ACADEMIC PURSUIT*

Sam Olawumi Jacob attended Oluyori Muslim Comprehensive High School between 1996-2001 and proceeded to Kogi State University Anyigba to Study Accounting -2004-2008.

 SOJ was deeply involved in Campus politics  and was voted in as Departmental  Chief Librarian in a very dramatic and keenly  contested election where the University's host community rooted for Igala candidature, but due to his pragmatic personality he defeated them to emerge the winner.

On graduation from University,  SOJ  answered the clarion call for the compulsory one year  National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), 2009/2010 and was posted to kagoro Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

*WORK EXPERIENCE*

Mr Sam Olawumi Jacob was employed into FEDERAL ROAD MAINTENANCE AGENCY (FERMA) between 2011-2012 as Acount Officer II.

As a young man in search of building his professional carrier, he joined PRIME TAX CONSULTING FIRM  in charge of Kogi State Internal Revenue Services as REVENUE OFFICER- 2012-2015 where he worked with dedication until 2016 when the board was dissolved under the administration of Alh. Idris Ichala Wada.

However, under the pragmatic leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the old Board was restructured to global standard and named Kogi State Internal Revenue Service.  SOJ was re-engaged  as  Assistant Manager in 2016 based on his previous track record, experience and expertise specifically in Taxation practices which stand at the core of Government revenue drive. He resigned to enable him contest for KGHA in 2022.

*PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS*

CNA - Certified National Accountant from College of Accountancy, Jos.

ACTI - Associate Chartered Tax practitioner, Institute of Taxation Lagos.

CFA- Chartered Forensic Auditor, Abuja.

*POLITICAL JOURNEY*

Sam Olawumi Jacob has been a lover of politics right from the era of  The Social Democratic Party  (SDP) and The National Republican Convention (NRC) which were Nigerian political parties established by the Government of General Ibrahim Babangida ably controlled by two of our foremost political fathers in the now Mopamuro LGA- Chief SILAS BAMDELE DANIYAN and Chief SUNDAY BOLORUNDURO AWONIYI.

It was on record that SOJ was one of the ardent followers of Chief SB Daniyan under the sub leadership of Chief Rotimi Omokore  aka Show-Boy, now the Akogun of Mopa.

 Sam Olawumi Jacob for a long time has been interested in the legislative affairs of his people which of course prompted him to contest for councillorship position of ward 05, Mopamuro LGA in 2004/2005 under Alliance for Democracy (AD) party. As teenager then, SOJ was the youngest aspirant in the Local government, and was eventually admonished to step down for his close rival in order to concentrate on his undergraduate studies.

Undeterred, he remains a staunch  political stake holder in  Mopamuro LGA which earned him the position of Personal Assistant to the then Vice Chairman Hon Makinde Oyebode, 2007/2011. 

SOJ has been a political loyalist of APC since 2014 and had not decamped for once. He is very humble, amiable, brilliant, smart, trustworthy and accessible philanthropist per excellence. 

He is generous to a fault which majority can testify and that is why he is popularly called "Nina Ni Owo" I.e Money is meant to be spent in literary interpretation. 

SOJ, a happily married man and father remains the best man to represent the good people of Mopamuro LGA at the State House of Assembly. 

A vote for SOJ is a vote for competence and quality representation come 2023 general elections.

The journey at the just concluded Primary election of Mopamuro State Constituency has come and gone and the victory at the poll has clearly shown the choice of the delegates to produce my ballot rival Mr Olawunmi Jacob who narrowly pulled 26 votes of the 50 delegates to emerge winner and candidate of our great Party, All Progressive Congress APC at the primary election.

On the choice of our esteemed delegates I stand and therefore congratulate my brother Mr. Jacob Olawunmi as winner of the primary election which held on this day 26th of May, 2022. At the Local Government Secretariat where the returning Officer Mr. Tope Daniels declared him winner having scored 26 votes of the 50 delegates votes.

I hereby distance myself from any purported plans to shortchange the winner of the APC Primary election Mr Jacob Olawunmi of his mandate and replace it with mine at INEC and therefore call on all those whose hands are tied to such plans to desist from such plans.

I appreciate the local government chairman Hon. Moses David Sunday, the Mopamuro APC party Chairman and all other excos for their overwhelming support especially to ensure that the party records a free and fair election.

Most importantly, I want to also appreciate His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello for his love and general tolerance for all humans not forgetting his large heart that accommodates us all regardless of our shortcomings. May Allah continue to bless you Sir.

Youths of Mopamuro Local Government have laud the neutrality stance of governor Yahaya Bello in the just concluded primary election in the State and particularly in Mopamuro State Constituency that has produced Mr. Jacob Olawunmi of ward 5 as the winner and candidate of APC, Mopamuro Local Government Area.

Recall that the election in Mopamuro was one that caught the attention of the media as constituents, delegates and the entirety of Mopamuro people trooped out in their intimidating numbers to protect their votes and resist vehemently, rigging and Imposition of candidate against the masse's choice.

"Your Excellency Sir, we are indeed pleased with your fatherly role of allowing the people of Mopamuro Local Government under the All Progressive Congress APC, make a firm decision of voting for their choice of candidate in the person of Jacob Olawunmi who pulled 26votes to defeat Hon. Abayomi Ronke Seth who pulled 24 votes".

"Your  Excellency Sir, the Youths and people of Mopamuro have made a clear statement as translated at the poll and our confidence in your leadership and ability to accept everybody as one united family remains intact even as we know you to be a man of justice and equality for all".

However, Your Excellency Sir, we the concerned Youths of Mopamuro Local Government wishes to call your attention to a rumoured plan by some masked lieutenants of yours to replace Mr. Jacob Olawunmi who is the winner of the just concluded APC primary election of Mopamuro State Constituency to Hon. Abayomi Ronke Seth at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. 

Your Excellency Sir, we are aware you are unaware of this undemocratic and disintegrating act by these persons and the effect of this act should it be implemented can not be overemphasised.

To avoid the unimaginable sir, is one of the major reasons why we are using this medium to call your attention to this unprogressive development. 

It is on this note that we are appealing that such an idea should remain only what it is "Rumour" and not be allowed to materialized for its adverse effects should it become real, can only but keep APC unpopular at the general poll and this will not be limited to just Mopamuro Local Government Assembly election but will metamorphose into other election in Yagba Land, thereby giving our party an unpopular outing and image.

Your Excellency Sir, old and young women including the Youths will match out naked to protest against any attempt to sabotage our choice of candidate at the concluded primary election. Your Excellency, we plead with you not to allow anything undemocratic to befall us in Mopamuro State Constituency election.

Once again Your Excellency, we deeply want to commend your daring and courageous efforts at the just concluded APC presidential primary election where you were the only aspirants from North Central zone of Nigeria and the first ever aspirant from Kogi State. DIVISIVE TENDENCIES OF STATE ACTORS TOWARDS THE IMMINENT IMPLOSION OF YAGBA FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY APC: AN OPEN LETTER TO HIS EXCELLENCY. 

There is a yoruba adage that says that " An head that is will end in doom will normally start with pains in the neck region". 

Your Excellency sir, this is the case of the Kogi State APC particularly in Yagba federal constituency. Sir, it is no longer news that you have contested the just concluded APC presidential primaries and have made us proud as a people even though the outcomes were not so favourable. It was however a giant leap for the entire North central region. 

Analysts have one after the other analysed what might have led to such loss with special reference to the number of votes gathered when compared to the total delegates at the possession of our beloved state. 

Sir, I will like to give you a clue. Those saddled with the responsibilities of running the affairs of the party and governance in general have failed you. They have failed you by directing all energies that was needed to persecute your presidential bid into thier own personal "Governorship Venture". 

For instance sir, you gave instructions that affirmation should be carried out across all LGAs in Kogi state with an exception of cases where some clauses were attached. But to our  amazement, many of your appointees went against that instructions with particular pointer to Yagba federal constituency where a special adviser to you on youths and students came home to implement a change in the names of existing excos in some local government areas with him dropping your name as the person who sent him. 

Many of the persons that were dropped were hardworking party members in the three local government and were all replaced with strangers who never knew where the journey started. 

This they did and submitted same to the state chairman of the party and later passed as affirmation. 

Sir, this over zealous aide of yours in person of the Special Adviser on Youths and Students have been going about peddling lies that you have handed over the reigns of power to your Chief of Staff who he said would later become the governor of the state. 

As much as everyone has a right to an ambition, it is very important to state that a house divided against itself will never stand. 

Sir, it is good for you to know that all political considerations have excluded the party leadership in the zone without recourse to those who worked hard to ensure your victory. All this because of an ambition. 

Sir, political considerations have been reduced to whoever have the loudest DJ equipments to hype and sing praises. This is a departure from what used to be obtainable. 

Yagba East in particular have witnessed the highest level of impunity by this Aide of yours who sees every opportunity as an avenue to market the governorship ambition of a top government aide. This is a local government that has the SSG and Commissioner for finance as leaders who have invested heavily in the party and its members. The finance commissioner have remained one of the reasons why many party faithfuls have not left the APC for other parties. This is a local government where the member of the house of reps representing Yagba federal constituency hails from in a locally strong opposition party. 

Sir, be it as it may, you can still save this party from the impending destruction by this elements within your circles who have breeder more enemies than friend for you in the past few years. 

Sir, you have a name to protect and your legacies must never be destroyed. Kindly take neccesary steps to savage the party.

Today in kogi, we now have youths and women, who were hitherto seated at the back, as a major driver of Governance due to your unique inclusive disposition and sensitivity to gender equality. As a state, our first position in the SFTAS indicators assessment amongst the 36 states and FCT in the year 2020, validates the efficiency and efficacy of your leadership.

Your landmark achievements in other sectors of the state like Health, Agriculture, Education, Commerce and infrastructural development is verifiable and a testament to your productive and progressive leadership.

As our leader, your humility, unwavering courage, dedication to the unity of Nigeria and commitment to making the country better is unquestionable.

Under our great party APC, you have redefined capacity, proactiveness and selfless service. The undisputed "star boy" of the whole North.
