The Executive Chairman of Yagba East local government, Hon. Abdulrazaq Asiru Ijagbemi ably represented by the secretary to the local government, Hon Joshua Dare Monday celebrated the Armed Forces Remembrance day today at Isanlu township stadium. It is an event celebrated annually in honor of the fallen heroes who fought many wars to build a nation that future Generations would be proud of.
The kind hearted Council Boss in his Speech after the laying of wreath said, our fathers made Sacrifices to build a viable country where progress and peace will reign.
According to him, they did not dream of a country where we will be killing ourselves.
The colourful occasion was graced by the Agbana of Isanlu land, HRM,Oba Moses Etombi ably represented by HRH, Oba Durojaiye Obigbemi, The Elelo of Idofin. Other dignitaries in attendance include, Councillors, supervisory councillors, SSAs, security agents, Nigerian Legion, Traditional rulers, Religion leaders and members of the press.
The Legion leader after his appreciation to the Chairman implored
him to allocate motor bikes to their office, to include them in the security meeting and empower their widows to put smiles on the faces of their dependants.
In his final remark, Hon. Abdulrazaq passionately appeals to everyone to donate generously to the families of these heroes due to their suffering and donations were made to support the families of our heroes.
He charges us to pray for our country and do necessary things so that the efforts of these heroes will not be in vain.
