Unity Campaign Network 4 Leke/Omede Commends President Bola Ahmed Tinubu For Receiving The Okun Stakeholders At The Villa

A socio-political group known as Unity Campaign Network for Leke/Omede (UCNLO) under the leadership of Engr. Ashiru A. Oluwasegun has commended the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for receiving the Okun Stakeholders at the villa over allege continued marginalization of Kogi west Senatorial District from attaining the govership position in the state

This was contained in a press statement jointly issued by the group leader

According to the group, we are very much elated that the Okun stakeholders and the Okun Development Association (ODA) under the leadership of Barr. Femi Mokikan has taken the lead in demonstrating awareness expected of the Kogi West people as the state governorship election approaches and charge other interest group within the senatorial district to take similar steps to rescue the district from political slavery.

The group called on other senatorial district in the state to reciprocate the past gesture received from Kogi westerners by supporting the district in the forthcoming governorship election 

We want to appreciates His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for reflecting on the myriad of issues affecting the senatorial district, despite the Okun enormous investments in the growth and development of the state, but without commensurate compensations, particularly in the area of human capital development.

This is very glaring fact that the benefits as accruing to individuals across the state is not evenly distributed with the people of Okun as they are being treated as pushovers, even though her contributions to the state via voting strength, collective commitment and otherwise, and have remained faithful to the development of the state in this regards.

We also take note of the travail that befell our notable political leaders who at different times aspired for party offices are deliberate machinations to stampede and relegate politicians of Okun extraction to the background with the help of stooges who have been planted on us as an entity.

No doubt this is a sure politics of inclusion during electioneering mobilization and politics of exclusion when the Political Meal is done, despite the Okun vast numerical strength and intellectual capacities.

The group pledged its support to the visitation of the ODA and any effort that will set Kogi west on the wheel of progress and development and call on other interest group to speak out for Kogi west Interest, that it will not hesitate to collaborate forces for a genuine struggle for the district political emancipation.
